Dhaka, Feb 25 (UNB) – Fortune Barishal and Chattogram Challengers are gearing up for a high-stakes clash in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) eliminator on Monday.

Both teams expressed confidence and determination ahead of the match.

Chattogram's playoff qualification came as a surprise to some, as they were not considered favorites at the tournament's start. However, they defied expectations and now stand one win away from the next stage.

Chattogram Captain Shuvaghta Hom emphasized their focus on victory. "The last two matches in the league phase were like knockouts for us," he said. "This is just another match, and we're taking the field to win and advance."

Chattogram's hopes for a batting surge rest on Australian Josh Brown, who has yet to unleash his explosive style in this BPL season. However, Shuvaghta remains optimistic about Brown's potential.

Barishal's South African recruit, David Miller, fresh to this BPL season, also expressed a strong desire to win. "We want to play our best cricket tomorrow and secure a place in the qualifier,“ he said. "I'll give my all on the field. The team has been playing well, and I'm eager to contribute.“

Both Barishal and Chattogram won seven matches each in the league phase, but due to the better run rate, Barishal came to the playoff in third place on the points table.
